My First E Cig Purchase
(or, Why I Hate the Tobacco Store Owner Guy)

When I was first looking into e cigarettes, I wondered why they weren’t more popular – they seemed to good to be true. Well I still haven’t found that out, but one year ago I finally decided to buy one of those e Cig Starter Kits. I had the worst damn experience involving the local tobacco store scam artist.
I walked into his store and approached the counter, wide eyes ogling at the 3 electronic cigarette packages he had behind the counter. I asked him which one he recommended and I could tell he had the answer loaded up and ready to go, how convenient! I’m now aware that to a salesman, someone asking which product is “best” is a green light to tell them which product is “more profitable”. Seriously, look up “BEST e Cig Starter Kit” on Google and tell me what you find.
Anyway, the tobacco store dude had recommended that I go with this Smoke 51 brand kit. It looked like all the others, a box with a big price tag. But it was also the cheapest e Cig starter kit he had and so I jumped at it. He told me that I’d have to come back to his store to buy refill cartridges ($$ for him) and other replacement parts. After dropping $80 of my hard earned money, I walked back to my car and tore open my new toy.
I looked through the stuff in the starter kit and found the normal pieces:
2 Batteries
Flavored Nicotine Cartridges
Wall Charger
Amidst this jumble of supplies was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen in a starter kit; it was a Smoke 51 membership card! Oh wow, I felt a warm glow of accomplishment sweep over me as I reflected back on what it took to become a member of this exclusive club. I took the Smoke 51 Trio starter kit home and charged her up, eagerly waiting for the light to turn green and start vaping.
By the next day, I was searching Smoke 51 Scam on Google and cursing the name of the company that creates these cheapest e Cig Starter kits. The larger battery wouldn’t screw into the cartridges, the cartridges didn’t last more than like 150 puffs or half an hour! And the batteries, don’t even get me started on the batteries. They lasted as long as it took to make it back to my couch after swapping the charged one in. The flavors weren’t good, I was getting nicotine cravings worse than ever, and to be honest it was not like one of those black electronic cigarettes – this thing is ugly.
So basically that’s my first experience with e Cig Starter kits, and I have since found some awesome options for USB e-cigarettes, limited kits for small budgets and epic kits for those than want huge vapor clouds.
